Guiding Idea
A connected ICT learning environment which focuses on quality learning in the hands of learners and empowers future-ready and responsible digital learners with technology.
Goals
1) To enhance competency of our students’ ICT skills
2) To create an ICT-vibrant environment in the school
3) To promote a culture of developing of ICT-enriched lessons which infuse SDL and CoL
4) To encourage pervasive use of ICT in teaching and learning
Curriculum Programmes
The school has many ICT related programmes spread out across the levels as well as running through various subjects. We seek to promote self-directed learning (SDL) and collaborative learning (CoL) through these programmes and leverage on technology to achieve our goals. Through rich collaboration with the other departments in school we have developed the following programmes:
ICT Mentoring Programme
This programme engages teachers in designing lessons that leverage on ICT to raise the quality of pedagogy and lesson resources in the school. The programme serves as one of the important structures of our teaching and learning framework. With the support of the school leaders and through a network of ICT mentors, this programme aims to encourage teachers to harness the use of technology to transform learning for our students.
Science Seamless Learning Programme
In collaboration with Nan Chiau Primary School, selected P3 students are on a Science Seamless Learning Programme (SSLP). This programme enables the students to experience learning beyond the classrooms. The introduction of iPads during lessons also encourages higher engagement of students and allows for the honing of their SDL (self-directed learning) and CoL (collaborative learning) competencies.
